Why the morning after
The people who stayed.
The wedding itself goes very quickly. The morning after tends to be the opposite.
Close family are still around, the wedding party are probably looking a little worse for wear, and the friends who travelled down aren’t quite ready to head home yet.
Rather than everyone slowly disappearing from the hotel breakfast, bring them here for a few hours.
Have a sauna, get in the cold water if you fancy it, drink some coffee, sit around and talk about the day before.
That’s pretty much the plan.
The morning
The gentlest possible landing.
You’ve organised enough by this point. There’s nothing left to run.
- Straight in, or absolutely notSome people will be in the cold plunge within a minute of arriving. Some will not go near it. Both are fine.
- One round, or the whole morningSome will spend most of it in the sauna. Others might do one round and then sit inside with a coffee.
- Nothing to runThere’s no timetable once you get here. People move between the saunas, plunges and bar however they like.
The nice bit is simply having everyone in one place for a little longer before they start heading home.
Whole-venue hire
The place is yours.
For wedding day-afters, you hire the whole of Balta.
That includes both wood-fired saunas, both cold plunges, the changing rooms, indoor space and bar. There won’t be any other customers on site.
Up to 50 peopleSeating for around 30 indoors, with 22 fitting across the two saunas at once.
If there are only 15 or 20 of you left by Sunday morning, that’s fine too. It’s still yours.

- Bring a catererWe don’t have a kitchen, but you’re welcome to bring one in. Coffee, pastries and a proper brunch all work well.
- The bar can openWe can keep it open too - although depending on the night before, the coffee machine may get more attention.

The morning after a wedding
A quick note on hangovers.
We know what the morning after a wedding can look like.
Tired is fine. A bit fragile is understandable. Still drunk isn’t.
Anyone who is still intoxicated won’t be able to use the sauna or cold plunge. If someone feels unwell or badly dehydrated, they should sit it out too.
They can still come, have a coffee and sit with everyone else.
For everyone using the sauna, take it slowly, drink plenty of water and don’t feel obliged to get in the cold plunge just because somebody else has.

It works the other way round too.
If lots of people are arriving the day before the wedding, you can hire Balta from 4pm-10pm instead.
Sauna, something to drink and a few hours together before the actual wedding starts.
Particularly good if you want everyone to see each other the night before without accidentally organising a second wedding reception.

- Get in touch earlyWedding weekends are planned a long way out. If you know you want to do it, ask when you’re planning the rest.

Wedding day-after questions.
How many people can come?
Up to 50 people can be on site. The two saunas seat 22 between them and there’s indoor seating for around 30.
Does everyone have to sauna?
No. People are very welcome to sit in the bar, drink coffee and generally do nothing.
Can we have brunch?
Yes. There’s no kitchen here, but you can bring in an outside caterer.
Can people come if they’re hungover?
Yes, but anyone using the sauna needs to be sober and well enough to do so. Anyone who is still drunk, unwell or badly dehydrated won’t be allowed to sauna or plunge.
Do you work with wedding venues?
Yes. If you’re getting married nearby, we’re happy to coordinate timings with your venue or planner.
How far ahead should we book?
Wedding weekends tend to be planned a long way out, so the earlier the better - especially for Saturdays and Sundays in summer. You don’t need final guest numbers when you enquire.
Can we book the evening before instead?
Yes. Evening hire runs from 4pm-10pm and works well for guests who have arrived the day before.
